CreamofCrab.com & WayfindersTHF Search for Ocean City, Maryland's Best Soup

Who in Maryland doesn't love a good bowl of cream of crab soup?

WayfindersTHF has teamed up with self-proclaimed “professional soup eater” Justin Bixler of CreamofCrab.com for a collaboration involving two things we love: raising awareness for testicular cancer and eating an immeasurable amount of cream of crab soup.

Since 2018, Justin has been on a mission to find Maryland’s best bowl of cream of crab, documenting and scoring hundreds of bowls along the way. It all started as a hobby for Justin—just him and his notebook. That notebook eventually became a dynamic spreadsheet, which has since grown into a Maryland-focused social media channel generating more than 2.2 million views in the last 90 days, with over 12,000 followers across Instagram, TikTok and Facebook.

Even better, Justin’s audience is concentrated throughout Maryland and Delmarva and primarily falls between ages 18–44—an incredible overlap with the young men WayfindersTHF is trying to reach with potentially lifesaving information about testicular cancer. So... we reached out about sponsoring some reviews.

Justin's response? "Count me in!"

That conversation quickly turned into something more than a casual video sponsorship. What if WayfindersTHF brought Justin to OCMD for “The Ocean City Cream of Crab Tour, presented by Wayfinders Testicular Health Fund”? Justin pounced on the idea like a hungry crab on a chicken neck! He sped down Route 50 and spent a weekend in Ocean City hitting as many local restaurants as he could in search of the best cream of crab soup at the beach.

Our collaboration will include:

• Additional social media content across Instagram, TikTok and Facebook

And as if my hands weren't full with enough responsibility already, I decided to join Justin for two guest stops along the way. Just to be clear: we sponsored the tour, not the scores. Justin maintains complete editorial control over every restaurant review, score, the video production and which restaurants he visits. For us, it’s another opportunity to meet young men where they already are, support some great Maryland businesses and sneak a little testicular cancer awareness into your feed along the way.
